A long-established wagashi shop along National Route 12 near JR Bibai Station. Parking is available at the back. Apparently 胡桃餅 is a Bibai specialty; I visited in the morning, but quite a lot had already sold. The walnuts' astringency is delicious in the sweet soy sauce-flavored mochi. Credit cards and PayPay were accepted. I recommend the クルミフロランタン too.

A famous, long-established confectionery shop operating in central Bibai along National Route 12. I believe it was founded in the Meiji era. Their クルミ餅 is very famous. I frequently pass through this area and often eat this shop's クルミ餅 (their sweets can also be bought at convenience stores such as Seven-Eleven in Bibai), but this was my first visit to the main shop. I'd had the impression it was hard to park a car here. Actually, there is a spacious parking lot behind the shop. It's tempting to park out front, but apparently that's not allowed, so be careful. The interior is very clean. Of course, it's not the original premises unchanged since the shop was founded. They sell various sweets besides クルミ餅, which was fun. I bought the usual クルミ餅 again, but next time I'd like to try more things. The クルミ餅 is delicious as always. They also gave me some offcuts for free at the register, so I was very satisfied.

I had no idea there was such a high-quality cake shop in Bibai!! Especially the サバラン,, I love it and have tried versions from all sorts of shops, but this might be the best。。 Apparently they sometimes have buttercream cake too, so I'd like to try it someday.

I always stop by whenever I visit Bibai. You can enjoy tarts and オメレット made with seasonal fruit at low prices. This season it's Shine Muscat! The サバラン, perhaps their hidden specialty?, and the seasonal kumquat tart are all delicious. The sweets' packaging with Ainu patterns is cute too!

Next to the register at an offal skewer shop I stopped at while out driving, there was a notice saying this shop's くるみ餅 was sold out. That instantly made me want to try it, so on the way back I visited 長栄堂 to buy some くるみ餅. I bought 2 just to try them. The mochi is coated in oblate powder, so it doesn't stick to your hands, and the subtle soy sauce aroma and saltiness add a nice accent! The size is just right too, and it was really delicious when I ate it during a work break! It's not an exceptionally unusual flavor, but somehow it makes you want to eat it again! I'd like to buy some again when I'm nearby.
