Bistare Bistare is a Nepali and Indian curry specialty restaurant whose first Hokkaido branch opened in 2005 and which now has 9 locations in Hokkaido. The curry made by authentic craftsmen is rich in spices that are also used in herbal medicine, an ideal curry that is gentle on the mind and body. The spices used are imported from their home countries, and by heating them just before serving customers, the curry is finished with a fragrant aroma. We are also proud of our naan baked in the charcoal-fired oven, the "tandoor." Naan with melting cheese has been a popular menu item since opening. Many customers come just for this cheese naan. Incidentally, "Bistare," which is also the name of the shop…

The food was very good, nice and warming. I got the set with any 2 curries, any naan, a drink, salad, and dessert. The butter chicken was sweet and not spicy. The lamb curry was my favourite of the two. I also tried my friend’s spicy lamb curry which was too much for my spice tolerance! The naan had a good char and garlic flavour and a generous portion of cheese. Highly recommend their plain lassi. The dining area has a warm and welcoming vibe. To those with limited japanese, the staff speak english and are very friendly. They moved here from Nepal around a year ago. Amazing to see cultures spreading. Thank you for another amazing meal!

We each got a combination meals consisting of 2 curries, a salad, a piece of tandoori chicken, and naan stuffed with cheese (that was almost a meal in itself). I had mutton (a little spicy) and daal for my curries, while my wife picked butter chicken and vegetables in green (spinach) sauce. Butter chicken was on the sweet side, but everything was delicious and fresh. I watched the chef make naan, and wished I left room for plain naan - it looked so good!

In our search for vegetarian food, we finally ended up here. The restaurant is unassuming from the outside, but we were so pleasantly surprised that we came back a second time. The restaurant had no problem preparing chicken tikka masala without chicken. It was delicious, we would come back again!

I've been to a few different curry places in Japan and the US, but this place has the best Indian food I've ever eaten. Absolutely amazing food, 10/10.
