Paintings by あべ弘士 and works by other artists are sold inside the gallery. They organize art-related events and picture-book readings in the gallery every month, so visiting during an event might be fun. The gallery is full of works you may encounter only once in a lifetime. If I find something I like, I buy it to take home. There is also masking tape you can only get here, so collectors might want to check it out. They also accept memberships for galleryプルプル year-round. A newsletter arrives several times a year, and in my birthday month I receive a picture drawn by あべ弘士 himself, so I look forward to it every year. (2023/12)

A quick peek is quite fun. A lot of the things seem especially likely to appeal to women, but there were some reasonably priced ceramics with good taste, too. If you pop in while passing by, you might find something you like.

There are picture books, goods by picture-book authors, and a gallery. It's a curious space that feels spacious even though it should be small. The staff were friendly, too, and I found myself chatting with them. It's a place I'd definitely like to stop by when I go to 旭川.

As it happened, yesterday's newspaper mentioned an exhibition of works by あべひろ士. My granddaughter enjoyed it, too, and photography was allowed, so we went home 100% satisfied. The person who helped us was wonderful as well. Thank you.

I think many tourists visit because of あべ's work, but I also think it contributes to promoting crafts by artists from Hokkaido and to local art and design education.
