A dining restaurant & café that makes use of the historic building "former Kitajima Flour Mill," built in Taisho 14 (1925). It offers a wide range of local food, including "Tokiwa-yaki," an oyaki modeled on the nearby "Asahibashi" bridge, dishes using ingredients from northern Hokkaido, and soft serve ice cream and parfaits delivered directly from the ranch.

Came here for the environment There is parking available for customers. This restaurant is inside an old building. I love old buildings! The food is just ok, portions are small and I was not full. Staff was friendly.. We got dessert and drinks to go with our meals. Not my favorite place to eat but a good place to stop by if you want a snack. Enjoy!

The café’s architecture has a charming vintage style — definitely worth stopping by to take a look 📸 Tokiwa-yaki (トキワ焼き) was quite ordinary in my opinion — it feels more like something you try for the experience… Their signature is the red bean paste. I specifically ordered the three-colored drink — matcha, Hokkaido milk, and Uji matcha — which had a nice layered flavor. Even if you don’t usually like red bean, this might change your mind.

Superb meal and desserts here. We ordered 3 different versions of keema curry (medium spicy). Gravy was mildly spicy, thick with a hint of sweetness. The soft serve was milky and creamy without being overbearingly sweet. Also had one savoury tokiwa-yaki (roast beef) and one sweet one (chocolate). Both were very well presented and delicious. Overall we were very happy and satisfied with our meal & dessert. Highly recommend this establishment!

Love the atmosphere of the cafe, i went here to take shelter from the snow, the warm greetings of the staff and delicious taiyaki makes me forget about the cold outside. I really suggest the custard and red bean taiyaki! Will definitely come back if i visit Asahikawa again

Found this old school cafe from travel book recommendations, glad we dropped by. The ambience inside is cosy and relaxing! The strawberry red bean matcha latte is a perfect match overall, matcha chocolate kahlua is super thick and nice! The keema curry with cheese and sausage taste like satay sauce similar to sg as we opted for the sweet non spicy version. Roast beef was abit dry imo. The tokiwa-yaki is a must try since it is their signature! The red bean one has a sweet touch to it and the chocolate marshmallow is also great for kids. The pastry tasted very close to croissant. Do drop by to support them if you are in the area 👍🏻
