Kamameshi normally takes 30 minutes as it's carefully cooked, so orders are accepted only up to 30 minutes before last order. Ordering by phone is relatively smoother. Both lunch and dinner, we close as soon as the broth runs out. Also, as it's a small shop with 18 seats and a small kitchen, we can only seat up to 6 guests at a time. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Super hidden gem. They really deserve 5 stars. Only 5 tables serving 20pax each time. We were Lucky to get the last small table available. The 釜饭 with scallops, prawns, and crab meat is excellent. Ingredients are fresh, portions are generous, and the rice is full of seafood flavour without being heavy. You can tell it’s cooked with care and timing is spot on. The udon is also very good. Chewy noodles, clean tasting broth, and just overall very comforting. The rice with small silver fish is simple but addictive. Light, savoury, and nicely balanced. Sometimes the most basic dishes are the hardest to get right, and this one really works. No frills, no gimmicks, just solid, well executed food. Feels like a place locals would go regularly. Definitely worth coming back to and recommending to friends.

a hidden gem in Asahikawa, although Asahikawa is famous for ramen, time and effort must be made for the hot pot rice. bottom is charred to perfection. the seafood are fresh and sweet. do note, a 30 mins wait is required. apparently, there are dessers as well but the portion is big. i would propose if dining as a couple, order 1 hot pot rice and 1 serving odon. my partner and i had a rather challenging time to finish this favourable task
