Very informative. Free entrance.
View on GoogleI came to learn about the Ainu people’s view of the universe and was shown the planetarium. The long journey from Kyushu was no trouble at all, as there was so much to learn, and the woman who guided me was very kind and attentive. There was a special exhibition too, and I was glad I visited.
View on GoogleA free museum. There are detailed exhibits on Akkeshi’s fishing industry and more. There is also plenty of literature on the Ainu, which is interesting. Apparently, it also has Japan’s easternmost planetarium.
View on GoogleThis is a resource center you can use for free The exhibits mainly focus on fishing, but the exhibition content is quite old, so that is something to keep in mind
View on GoogleA small memorial hall with free admission, presenting historical information about Akkeshi Town and maritime machinery. You can take a look if you are passing by; it is a small attraction that does not warrant a special trip.
