京城館 is a long-established yakiniku restaurant loved by the locals of Abira. Its prices are reasonable, yet the meat quality is very high. Particularly noteworthy is the beef tongue, cut thick with a pleasantly chewy texture that releases more savory flavor with every bite. In contrast, the kalbi is so tender it seems to melt on the tongue, filling the mouth with the sweetness of its fat. The casual inclusion of jingisukan in the course options is also quintessentially Hokkaido. A local's remark that “the ramen is great to finish with” was memorable too; as someone from Kanto, I found this a new food culture. Inside, regulars casually moved between each other's tables to chat, creating a warmth absent from restaurants in tourist areas. Both the flavors and atmosphere make this a place I would like to revisit.

A long-established restaurant founded in Showa 32, with an atmosphere that feels like the epitome of a local yakiniku shop and positively oozes Showa-era character. I thought the menu had a relatively large selection of offal, but for some reason there is ramen too, and both are delicious. An ideal place to eat ramen with yakiniku as a side dish. It seems to be run by a married couple, and the wife in particular is outgoing and fun. I would not recommend it to people who dislike that sort of service and want to eat quietly. The signs outside featuring beef and a cow, and ramen and a pig, also have the quirky appeal of an oddball attraction and are amusing.

My wife has known this restaurant for a long time, and it has a local reputation for being very delicious. She brought me for my first visit; the owner couple were very pleasant, the meat was delicious, and it was well worth traveling a long way😊 The liver was springy, the horumon became sweeter with every chew, and its pairing with the miso sauce was superb. The beef tongue was very tender even though thickly sliced. They had Ezo deer meat that was not on the menu, so I ordered some, and it was very delicious with no unpleasant raw smell. Other classics such as sagari, yukgaejang soup, and homemade kimchi were also delicious. My wife and I ate and drank our fill for 1万2000円, which was very reasonable, and this is one of the restaurants I would like to visit once a month.

The horumon was very delicious. The other meats are delicious too, but I cannot stop eating the horumon! The beef tongue is thick and delicious as well. The yukgaejang soup and kimchi were mild and gently flavored, so they felt a little lacking, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. (I really love spicy food.) I would like to go again if I get the chance.
