The Fisheries Science Center is probably a testing and research facility, but it also houses a river and lake learning center, so you can easily drop in. At the entrance, you write down the number of visitors and where you came from, but admission was free. Since Abashiri has many lakes, there are panel displays about rivers, lakes, and fisheries. You can also see tanks containing fish, shellfish, crustaceans, and more, giving it the feel of a small aquarium. There is also a children's corner and a library, making this a small but interesting learning center.
