small but interesting! many reliefs and statues still intact. Observe the statue of Ganesha with the broken tusk, the story of which goes by a legend like this: Sage Vyasa needed a scribe to dictate the colossal epic, the Mahabharata. Ganesha agreed, but on the strict condition that Vyasa must narrate it continuously without a single pause. During this intense process, Ganesha's pen broke. To ensure he didn't stop writing and break his promise, he snapped off his own tusk and used it as a pen until the epic was finished
View on GoogleCheap tickets yet some original statues already gone or exchanged, kinda made me sad. The ambience is peaceful tho. No drone allowed.
View on GoogleVery quite and peaceful. Staff was informative and friendly. Gorgeous site.
View on GoogleNot too crowded on the weekday. You also can buy ticket onsite, for locals IDR10.000 and for international IDR20.000.
View on Googlegood place for a short holiday. this temple is located 6.5 meter below the surface, because it had been covered by the vulcanic dust. now they have renovated the temple and the area. the entry ticket is only 5k per person. pretty cheap, then you can explore and learn this beautiful historical site.
