the best roll cake in town is Wahyu Austin Pastry i can say! the cake is soft and the filling is melting, i love it! not too sweet but just enough. they have a lot of variants and all are good! but the best seller is opera. you have to come to the shop in the morning before 8 am because it opens at 9 am and close at 12. you will get number and then they will call you to go inside

I recently visited here and had a wonderful experience! Their signature menu is the roll cake (Rp 95.000), available in a variety of flavors: Nougat Opera (choco-mocca) Green Tea Chocolate Cheese Blueberry Orange Each roll cake is soft, rich in flavor, and beautifully made—perfect for gifting or enjoying with family and friends. They also sell giant cookies for Rp 15.000 each, with two variants: Coconut and Chocolate. One unique thing about Wahyu Austin Pastry is that their store is located at the owner’s personal house inside a housing complex, which gives the place a cozy, homey vibe. Despite the low-key setting, the quality of their products is top-notch. The staff was very friendly and helpful—one of them took the time to explain the shelf life of each product and even offered some free samples, which made the visit even more enjoyable. You can pay with cash or QRIS, but too bad there is no receipt.

Wahyu Austin used to be one of my favorite hidden gems back in my undergrad days. I went there almost every week, brought friends, guests from my campus, even bought pastries to accompany my language class nearby. The staff were always warm, generous, and would often sneak in bonus items with a smile—super wholesome vibes all around. So after years away from Jogja, I came back feeling a little nostalgic and brought some friends to show them what they’ve been missing. We bought quite a lot—definitely not just window shopping—and in a totally friendly, joking way I said, “Hey, maybe throw in a little sample so my friends can fall in love and buy more later.” Classic banter, right? Apparently not. The moment those words left my mouth, the staff’s entire energy shifted. Suddenly no smiles, no chit-chat, just cold silence. I didn’t realize a joke could turn a bakery into an ice factory. Then came the cherry on top: while handing us some pastries (and giving some to our Bluebird driver too, which was nice in theory), the lady said—dead serious, no humor in sight—“Nggak usah minta-minta juga kita kasih.” Wow. Okay. I mean, I wasn’t actually begging, but thanks for the reminder, I guess? That line could’ve been said playfully, warmly, like “Hahaha jangan gitu dong, kita kasih kok.” But no—we got the full passive-aggressive treatment, as if we just asked for the whole store for free. Honestly, it was weird. I came back excited to support a place I’ve loved for years. The kitchen staff were still nice, thankfully, but the front staff? Yeah, not the same. Wahyu Austin, you still make great pastries—but maybe sprinkle some of that sweetness back into your service. It used to be part of the charm.

The roll cake is delicious. Chill it on refrigerator and eat it while cold. The sensation and the taste mixed well. One of the best cake for me! Never been there but my aunt always got me one when went to my home. I want to go there directly one day.
