This is a fair review. This place specializes in grilled tuna jaws, and honestly, the grilled tuna jaw itself tastes really good. The seasoning is well done, with no fishy smell or unpleasant taste at all, so they definitely nailed that part. I ordered the medium size, and for 39K rupiah including rice and two sambal options (dabu-dabu and matah), the portion was actually quite big. The tuna jaw still had plenty of meat around the bone, making it feel worth the price, although I do know other places that offer slightly better value. Still, overall, it’s reasonably worth it. They offer two seasoning options: the original and the rica version. For me, the original is much better. It’s savory with a slight spiciness that works really well with the fatty fish. The rica version, however, was too sweet for my taste. Since tuna jaw is already naturally rich and fatty, adding sweetness on top of it felt unnecessary. As for the sambal, one of the options was sold out, so they only served me one type. The problem is, what I received was neither dabu-dabu nor sambal matah. It tasted more like a green chili sambal. I think they need to be clearer and more consistent about what sambal they actually serve to customers. Another small critique is that the sambal could be spicier for people who genuinely enjoy spicy food. Overall, the grilled tuna jaw itself is really enjoyable, but there are still some inconsistencies that need improvement. For now, I’d give this place 3 stars.
