I was coming here for dinner. This place is close to my dorm, and when I saw the title "japanese food" I decided to walk in. I have a good expectation here, a new "hidden gem near my dorm" maybe. I came here with my boyfriend. First step, there is no one in the main room (front/cashier), the staff is in the backroom (we call them, then someone coming). I mean, they are not ready when we enter the resto. After providing us with the menu sheets, my bf ask the cashier/frontliner about the reccomended menu here, but she seems not sure to answer my bf questions. Even though she reply that the reccomended main course menu are japanese mentai and nawatori ramen. Well, we choose a seat and made order (2 nawatori ramen, 1 odeng and 1 ocha. We wait and enjoy the cozy vibes here. I read the books there briefly and take funny photos with my bf while we wait our orders. But its been a long time (when we came, there is no other customer, and the staff is not only one person). So I think it should be faster. First order came, the odeng menu. I love this, their odeng is delicious, the taste of the odeng itself and the broth is very well. At the moment we said "at least it was worth the wait" and we still have a good expectation for the ramen. But surprisingly the nawatori ramen is not that good. I am sorry for baca kitchen, but we think it taste bad. we are disappointed, but we try to finish our meal. Usually i dont wanna waste food, but i cant do it this time. We have tried to fix the taste by adding some chili oil, but still, i cant help it. My bf pushed himself to finish his meal (succeed), i've tried but failed. I keep thinking whats wrong with the ramen. Wether the chef tasted the food or not before serving to us? Is the taste is normal or even delicious for them ? I dont understand. Or maybe the broth was stale? I dont know. And the ramen's topping tasted bland. I think its good if baca kitchen can improve the ramen's taste. (Fyi, i love ramen dishes, and i love to try when i found a new ramen resto or just resto who has a ramen menu). Thats why automatically i compare the taste, and so sorry i have to be honest, ramen here is bad. Even i dont like the taste, i think the serving display is good. And after giving up with the ramen, i tasted the ocha (my bf's order, i carry my own water tumbler) and again i disappointed. The ocha taste like sugar water (water with lots of sugar rather than greentea). And about the atmosphere, i really love it. Cozy place and clean. Maybe if i only order the snack i can give 5 stars review (i dont know, but the odeng is delicious). my conclusion, i dont mind to come here again for odeng (and maybe try another snack menu here). But i would never come again for ramen. I hope baca kitchen will be better and better. I believe that business will survive if the businessman pay attention to every detail and open to criticism and then take some wise actions for improvement.

Really cute little Japanese/Korean restaurant. The Ramen was delicious. Be prepared to wait a while for your food - there is only one person in the kitchen - but as long as you aren't starving the ambience and decor makes for a nice wait 😊

Cute Japanese Korean fusion restaurant! I happened to be walking around the neighbourhood and passed by this place. I was greeted by the adorable 10 year old owner and his parents. The family is very friendly and I had a great time chatting with them! I loved my Bibimbap because I noticed unfortunately, it is quite hard to get enough vegetables in my meals in Yogyakarta. But this was perfect. It had meat, plenty of vegetables and rice. Apparently the owners favourite is the Japanese Mentaiko! Next time I plan to visit it again to give it a try 😊

It take one hour for a just bowl of a dish, although the gochujang is good but the ramen barely even have any taste in it. The waitress seems too busy with his phone even when we’re asking for refill it took way too long

The food is good, appropriate for the price. Only the iced tea is too watery.
