One of the best nasi Padang spots around the UGM area. I can’t say it’s the best in all of Jogja because every area has its own popular nasi Padang place. But this one is definitely one of the best near UGM, and the flavor is quite close to authentic Sumatra taste. I even heard some of the staff speaking in Minang language, which explains why the flavors feel so genuine and similar to what you’d find in Sumatra. They also serve lado merah — a red chili sauce that tastes very authentic. Not many nasi Padang places in Jogja offer this, so that’s a big plus. The price is affordable, depending on the dishes you choose. I usually order gulai ayam or ayam lado, and sometimes rendang. The price starts from around 8–10k, which is very student-friendly. The place is quite small, probably only fits 4–5 people. It’s better to take away since there’s no car park available. As someone from Sumatra and a college student in Jogja, I give it 5/5. Definitely worth trying!
View on GoogleServes minang/padang food. Sabana Murah means really cheap (affordable price). Popular among college student. Lot of kinds of menus, grilled fish/chicken, fried chicken/fish, balado (red chili), potato patties, kikil, beef rendang, etc.
View on Googlevery delicious the real original padang cuisine, my suggestion don't choose crispy chicken, it was soo tough to bite.

View on GoogleThe soup that was served to us had a distinct savory taste, which was complemented well by its perfect consistency - not too thick but just right. It had a strong flavor that was slightly spicy, making it a perfect appetizer to awaken your taste buds. However, the fried chicken we ordered was a bit disappointing, as it was too salty for our liking. The seasoning didn't seem to penetrate the whole chicken properly, leaving some parts bland and unappetizing. On the other hand, the sambal that came with it was really good, adding a nice kick to the dish. The amount of rice that was served was quite generous and filling, which made the meal more satisfying. Overall, considering the price that was offered to us, we think that it was a great value for money.
