This is easily the most authentic Padang spot I’ve come across in a while. The flavors don't just sit there—they pop. They definitely aren't shy with the ingredients; the Rendang is rich, dark, and slow-cooked until it's 'melt-in-your-mouth' tender, and the Sambal Ijo has that fresh, sharp kick that is no small feat to get right. With the sheer variety in the display, the only 'problem' you'll have is deciding what to leave behind. It’s the kind of place where the generous portions and deep spice profiles make the meal feel like a bargain before you’ve even finished. If you’re looking for a meal that doesn’t cut corners, this is the one.
View on GoogleProbably the most authentic Padang food I’ve had in Yogyakarta. I know I’m a westerner but my wife’s family are from Padang and I’ve had amazing home-cooked food! This place was also one of the cleanest local restaurants I’ve seen here and the food was well covered and actually hot (panas and pedas!)
View on GoogleWe had breakfast there at 10am The food was terrible unfortunately, the spinach was very very dry. The telur plate was juste tasting like old oil Fried chicken was dry too It seemed like the food they served us was old The only good thing was the corn patty
View on GoogleLike any other Padang restaurants, this place serves miscellaneous Padang dishes as seen on menu. However, compared to other Padang restaurants, this place is definitely cleaner and more modern. They set a transparent plastic film to separate visitors and the food to minimize contamination (the staff will plate your order). They also have a bright and spacious seating area. Their food tastes good. They also give crisps as a mandatory part of their dishes. If you're here, try ordering the orange juice; they're so sweet and delicious!
View on GoogleThe Sate Padang was tasty with juicy sauce, and the Teh Talua was creamy and sweet. I tried the Sate Padang and Teh Talua at Nasi Kapau Uda Jack for Rp40.000. The place is spacious with plentu of seating, and the service is fast and polite. But, the price might feel a bit high for students on a budget.
