The food was very authentic because the chef is korean. The price is very cheap for the locals. I ordered kimchi jigae and jjampong. It was very tasty but you have to wait a little longer cuz the chef made the food by order and fresh from the kitchen. They are gonna give you danmuji and kimchi as a side dish. It was a very good experience.

Mama Kimchi Korean Food serves a heartwarming Korean dishes with a small yet humble place. It feels like you’re visiting someone house and be welcomed with delicious foods. The Chef is Korean, still speaks in Korean. No wonder, if their food is authentic. This review based on 2 visits to this humble restaurant. My top pick, the Kimchi Jjigae! The broth was spot on, the taste of saltiness and sourness of the Kimchi really complement each other well. The spiciness can be adjusted to your taste, just ask the Chef. The Rp 30.000,- price tag also included a ban-chan and a rice-bowl. I think it was one of the most authentic and delicious Kimchi Jjigae I’ve ever had in Jogja, even compared to top-notch Korean Restaurant. For their Tteokbokki and Jjampong, they were good, but not at the level of the Kimchi Jjigae. Not my favorite, but are still worth to try. Unfortunately I haven’t tried one of their best seller which is the Jjangmyeon. Because, I do not tolerate the taste of black bean paste very well. I hope that one day this place will get bigger and can accomodate larger parties. Recommended!

This small, quaint place truly is a hidden gem for Korean food enthusiasts who have been looking around for authentic dishes. We were lucky it wasn't so busy when we got there for dinner last night. Considering the limited dining space, you might want to avoid busy hours especially if you're in a rush. We didn't mind sharing a table with two other girls. The ambience is warm and inviting, the girls were fun to chat with and the lady working there was super friendly too. The chef is Korean so we had high hopes—he surely did not disappoint! We ordered Kimchi Jjigae, Rabokki, and Jjajjangmyeon. Generous portion, incredible taste and super affordable. Everything was delicious, but you should definitely try the Kimchi Jjigae. The soup was amazing! Kimchi jjigae was served with a bowl of warm rice cooked to perfection and banchan. My friend and I are very particular about kimchi as we don't really enjoy the sharp tang that we often find in supermarket-bought kimchi, but theirs were absolutely marvelous! Banchan consisted of baechu-kimchi and danmuji (first time eating this!) and we fell in love with the crunch and refreshing taste. We spent another hour having a nice chat with the lady and the Korean chef there and we would like you to know that we enjoyed every second of last night's dinner. We will definitely be returning!

One weeks ago, 7 March, I came here with my college senior. He ordered Jajangmyeon and I ordered Jjampong. For me, both are very delicious. But my senior didn't like spicy, so he prefer Jajangmyeon. Honestly we still foreign with its kimchi taste. If u like 'acar' maybe u will like kimchi too. Unfortunately the place is a lil bit hot at midday. Overall is good 👍🏻
