I used to visit this balcony all the time with my friends, though we don't go there anymore. Located in Ambarrukmo Plaza, it has a great vibe that’s perfect for hanging out, family gatherings, or pretty much any occasion. My favorite items here are the beef sambal bawang rice bowl and the lychee yakult drink. They also serve an insanely delicious chocolate mousse cake, but unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it! The staff members are extremely friendly as well. If you’re ever at Amplaz unsure of what to eat or just tired from walking around, you should definitely drop by highly recommended!

Once upon an afternoon that promised a sunset but delivered a stubborn layer of clouds, where you wait for golden hour the way you wait for a loyal partner : with hope, delusion, and a touch of comedy. The sky was moody, undecided, a little grey you know, very men. and as I sat there, in that soft "nyore" breeze, I realized the sun might not show up at all. Just like those men who say, "I'll be there," and somehow never are. So instead of waiting for a sunset or miracles I ordered snacks. A lot of snacks, and every single one of them showed up. On time. Warm. Delicious. Honestly, more reliable than any love interest I've met this year. "Sweetie, if they can't give you sunshine, aat least make sure the food does." "Maybe we don't wait for people to show up... maybe we choose the things that never fail to comfort us." Then came the dessert soft sweet unapologetically indulgent, the kind of dessert that doesn't ask questions, doesn't ghost, and doesn't make promises it can't keep. As I took that first bite, I felt it: that tiny, gentle reminder that loving myself is still the most consistent romance I've ever had. And maybe, on a cloudy afternoon at Balcony, that was the sunset I needed.

I've been to this place several times, and I can confidently say it’s one of my go-to restaurants! Whenever I’m unsure about where to eat, this spot is always a solid choice. The food menu is quite varied, so there's always something new to try. One of the standout dishes I’d recommend is the salted egg, flavorful, rich, and definitely satisfying. Their desserts are also worth mentioning. I almost always go for their cheesecakes, and they never disappoint. The berry toppings are fresh and tangy, pairing perfectly with the smooth, creamy texture of the cake. As for the drinks, they’re pretty decent too, nothing mind-blowing, but refreshing and nicely presented. Price-wise, it’s on the higher end, especially when compared to the average wage in Yogyakarta. But honestly, it feels worth it. The portion sizes are fair, the taste lives up to the price, and the overall experience makes it a good value. The ambiance is also quite nice, cozy enough for casual hangouts, but also suitable for a peaceful morning coffee session. And shoutout to the staff: the waiters are always friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the comfort of the place. All in all, highly recommended for both regular meals and sweet treats!

Service was impeccable. If you make a reservation prior to dining in, they would address you by your name even when you are settling the bill. They were polite and promptly cleared the dishes when we were done eating so that dessert could be served. I brought my parents there for their wedding anniversary and the restaurant obliged to my request to write “Happy Anniversary” on the mystery dessert. The meats were a bit too cooked for my liking, but the dishes were overall enak sekali. 10/10 will come again.
