The pioneer of ayam geprek based on information if you google it, so we listed this culinary spot when coming to Yogyakarta. They serve buffet so you take the food by yourself and after choosing the food come to the staff who make the sambal and they will ask for the spiciness that you want, how much chili you want to use. Cash payment method and hard to park a car, fine for motorcycles.

🍗🍖 A Must for Ayam Geprek Lovers! This place is incredibly affordable, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The ayam geprek is absolutely delicious – the crispy batter is perfectly seasoned, with a great balance of umami that makes every bite memorable. However, the seating is quite limited, with only three tables available. Be prepared to share a table if it gets busy.

Ayam Geprek Bu Rum is a legend in Yogyakarta, not only is the price cheap, but the taste is good too. You can request the level of spiciness you want. And also, the chickens are so big, so pick your big one.

This is our second time eating here. Street food ayam geprek in Jogja. The first one was back in 2020 thanks to Hari Ji Sun's food blogging video, she ate and recommended the place. So we tried and loved it. The chicken is crispy and fresh. Unlimited rice and veggies. Last time we had sayur lodeh but this time they serve sayur sop & buncis. The cook will ask the amount of chili we want. I TRIED 15 Chilies. Spicy but manageable. The taste is like other ayam geprek but we love how she mashes the chili fresh and has veggie options. We can ask for tongseng soup too. They have few fritter options such as tempe, tofu, mendoan, eggplants. We ordered 4 chickens, all fritters, sayur and it cost only less than 100K. Be prepared, the place is not comfortable and hot.

One of my favorite ayam geprek restaurants in Yogyakarta. It is usually crowded during lunch time. I like how the food is served. You can choose varieties of side dishes including fried eggs, tempeh, eggplants, and many kinds of veggie soups as well. My favorite is their ayam geprek with egg. Worth visiting.
