Good natural tourist spot for families. You can do some sports or just have a picnic here. The mountain view is beautiful, and the natural atmosphere is nice. I like to visit this place early in the morning, usually before 7 AM, to enjoy the quiet view. You will notice that many visitors come to this area by riding jeep cars. If you decide to bring a motorcycle, the parking fee is Rp5000. It is a simple and peaceful place to sit down and observe the mountain closely.

Went for the Mt Marapi jeep tour. Interesting, there is a marapi mesum where they should items left behind during the 2010 eruption. The remains of a van of rescue workers killed during the eruption

Bunker Kaliadem Merapi is a stark and sobering place that really brings home the raw power of Mount Merapi. Standing inside the bunker, you can feel how it was meant to protect residents from volcanic smoke and ash - but also learn the sobering reality that it would not have withstood lava flows. The story of the two residents who tragically lost their lives here during the 2010 eruption adds a heavy, emotional weight to the visit The bunker itself is simple and not large, but that simplicity makes the experience more real and haunting. You’re not looking at a polished attraction - it feels like a preserved moment of history Unfortunately, Mount Merapi was hidden behind thick clouds when we visited, so we missed the iconic volcano view that many come for

A overrated place, it's basically an abandoned bunker with history of some poor volunteers that died killed inside because who ever that built it forgot to build some air passage.(The poor guy's tried to escape from Mt merapi hot lava and heat cloud. This unfortunate morbid place ended up become tourism site. Other than visiting the dark, damp, morbid bunker, people normally taking picture Infront of the signage. Numerous crafts seller, souvenirs shopkeeper will coax you to buy their wares.

An emotional experience, walking towards Mt Merapi and listening to the 2010 eruption stories from the local people. Walked around the bunker and surrounding area. They have a small museum which showed the devastation the eruption caused. A gift shop run by a local family who still live close to the volcano.
