Pulo Kenanga is a fascinating historical site, but it can be a bit tricky to navigate for first-timers. You cannot enter the site directly because the entrance is located inside the larger Taman Sari area, meaning you must purchase an official ticket at the main counter first before heading over. This striking structure used to be a stunning multi-story palace on an artificial island surrounded by a grand lake, but it tragically turned into the ruins you see today after a massive earthquake in 1867 destroyed the water complex and collapsed the building. While the history is incredible, you need to be very cautious of random people in the village alleys offering to show you the way or give you a tour. Many of them are unofficial, so if you do want a guide, make sure to only go with someone wearing an official, authorized lanyard. Additionally, if a guide or local leads you toward a specific shop or pushes you to buy souvenirs and artwork, do not feel pressured to comply. It is perfectly fine to politely refuse and continue on your way. Despite the persistent unofficial guides in the area, the crumbling walls and hollowed-out windows are breathtaking, making it a highly recommended stop for photography and history enthusiasts.
View on GoogleIt is a heritage site of the Yogyakarta Palace in the form of an old building located behind the former Ngasem Market and in the middle of a densely populated residential local area. Pulo Cemeti is also still an area with the Tamansari tourist park. Pulo Cemeti used to function as a resting place as well as a reconnaissance place. This heritage site is very unique because it has architecture that is still quite well maintained even though it is hundreds of years old. From Pulo Cemeti, we also You can walk down the halls of the building that used to be under the pond or the freshener that leads to the Gumuling Well area

View on GooglePleasant to wander around, but there's no information, and much of the place seems to have been "restored" with the liberal application of concrete. Worth a look if you're in the area but don't go out of your way.
