This Warung Nasi Mentik Wangi is recommended. They specialise in nasi bakar and it's just sooooooo good! It's a walking distance from Lempuyangan train station and not far from the city centre. I think the price is pretty ok but for some, it may be considered a bit expensive as the portion is not big. The nasi bakar is flavourful and the lemon basil aroma really enhances the dish. The place is clean and pretty spacious as it can fit quite a few tables. The service is very friendly and e-payment is available.

View on GoogleReally cute open air restaurant that got recommended to me. They accommodated me by cooking a vegan Nasi Bakar with mushrooms and tempeh which I really appreciated! It was so delicious and really just comfort food. Maybe you have to ask for less spice because I was told it can be quite spicy but mine was perfect. Next time I am in Jogja this is going to be my first stop.
View on GoogleThe location is tucked inward, so the front of the shop is not visible from the main road. The yard is spacious so parking is ample. Standard atmosphere, roofed outdoor area without AC, lots of benches and breezy. Arrived there around 11, diners were quiet but the menu only had chicken and lung-topped grilled rice. The food waiting time was quite long at 15-20 minutes, because they only start the grilling process after people order. The price is okay though. I ordered lung-topped grilled rice, delicious, tender, not fishy. But the flavor tends to be sweet even though there is chili, yet not spicy. Tempe mendoan is delicious but more suited to be flour-fried tempeh because it's not like mendoan. Finally, when paying, I asked, if this runs out, do you not cook anymore and close, or what? The server only explained that they were currently cooking side dishes and we could wait for about 30 minutes. So many were disappointed because upon arrival they were only told chicken was left and not given the option to wait. Overall ok but maybe you can WhatsApp first or ask about menu options / waiting options so you won't be let down.
