I discovered Museum Sandi while dining nearby and was warmly invited in by the staff. Admission is free, and the experience was fantastic. Despite my tight 10-minute schedule, the lovely staff customised a quick briefing so I could understand the museum's essence as a foreigner. It’s a fascinating look into the world of secret codes and the intense intelligence warfare during the Indonesian independence war. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Jogja!

We came during the weekday after Christmas 2022.They should have opened after 9 am but they had a fire hazard training in the morning. However the staff was very friendly and welcomed our group right away. The guide played the video and then guided us through the rooms. She was very thorough in her explanation and accompanied us to the second floor. The visit was free. Thank you for giving me and the kids the information about the history of cryptology in Indonesia. PS: the building where the museum is housed aged over 100 years old. It was the Foreign Ministry building during the 1940s era. Lots of history!

It is one of the best museum I have found. The staff are very friendly (it is the characteristic of the people of Jogjakarta) and the museum is not too big, so you can enjoy the collection of this museum without getting tired. I love that all of this place is air conditioned. You can also know the father of cypher/code in Indonesia here. Surprise, surprise! There is something that you will get from the staff. What is that? Are you curious? Please visit the museum, especially because no ticket fee. This place is easily accessible and not too far from Malioboro.

This museum is underrated. It's full of historical story. The building itself is the original witness for cryptography development in Indonesia. There are information texts in English for international visitors. Unfortunately, some information texts were covered with the collections. Entrance ticket was free, there's parking space available. Too bad that they only have few visitors for a day. The staff was informative and friendly if you'd like to ask more questions regarding the coding and history. The whole visitation will take time about 60 minutes, including watching the video.

The officer is very informative and communicative. It's the 1st time visiting that place. Though the place isn't big, it spent around 30 - 40 minutes to get all the information from the officer.
