As someone who doesn’t really enjoy sweet-style mie ayam, Mie Kobar Jaya is easily my FAVORITE mie ayam in Jogja 😭🍜 The broth is rich, savory, and slightly salty, perfect for non-Jogja locals or anyone who prefers savory over sweet. The chicken chunks are generously sized, and although the topping is slightly sweet, it’s perfectly balanced and doesn’t overpower the broth. They also provide free-flow green onions (YES PLEASE 🤤), and you can add fried meatballs if you’re feeling extra. You can choose between regular or green noodles, but TRUST ME… you HAVE to try the bowl-shaped wonton. The noodles are thin, springy, and pair perfectly with the savory broth. They also include those wide wonton sheets in the bowl, which make every bite even better. Even though it’s just a humble roadside stall, the food seriously speaks for itself. My partner and I have been here many times and it’s still our go-to mie ayam. Highly approved! 🫶 10/10. One bowl is never enough. 😭🤍

This is one of the famous mie ayam spots in Jogja. The location is pretty strategic, close to Angkringan Bu Yono, which is popular too. Their signature dish is mie hijau (green noodles) made from spinach, and I think that’s what makes this place stand out. They offer many variants—from the original version to one served with oversized pangsit shaped like a bowl, so you can really enjoy it. They also sell snacks with prices ranging from 2k to 5k. I’m not really sure about all the options, so you’ll need to ask the staff directly. The price is affordable overall, and the service is fast even when the queue gets long. Seating is limited, so you might have to share a table with others. Sometimes, you can hear the church bell nearby, which gives the place a unique and different vibe. Definitely worth trying. For me, 4/5

the chicken noodles are tasty with a slightly sweet flavor. there are plenty of toppings to choose from, and the portion size is quite generous. the price is fairly affordable, which makes it even better. the place can get pretty crowded, but the location is strategic and easy to reach.

The place gets crowded, especially during dining hours, so you really need to look around to find a seat. As for the food, the taste is good, though nothing particularly special. The portions, however, are quite large, especially if you order the “jumbo” option. Despite the high number of customers, their serving time is impressively fast. The downside is that the noodles tend to be overcooked and bloated, which makes them a bit less enjoyable to eat.

I went there with my friends. The food was delicious, and the service was very fast. The staff were also very friendly and humorous. There was a wide variety of sauces and condiments available. The prices were very student-friendly, though the parking area could perhaps be expanded so it doesn't obstruct the main road.
