I actually ended up here by accident. I was planning to visit Pantai Ngandong, but mistakenly parked at Pantai Sundak instead. Looking back, I'm glad I did. Personally, I enjoyed Pantai Sundak even more. The shoreline is long, the white sand is beautiful, and the beach is surprisingly clean. While it's not a beach I'd recommend for swimming because of the strong waves offshore, it's still safe to play along the water's edge where the waves are gentler. One of the highlights is simply watching the ocean. The powerful waves crashing in the distance create a stunning view and make the beach feel wild and dramatic. If you want to relax, you can rent an umbrella with a mat for around IDR 30,000, which is well worth it on a sunny day. There are also plenty of small stalls selling drinks, snacks, and even full meals, so it's easy to spend a few hours here without needing to leave. Overall, Pantai Sundak is a beautiful beach with clean surroundings, soft white sand, and spectacular coastal scenery. Sometimes getting lost leads you somewhere even better, which is a surprisingly efficient travel strategy when it works.

One of the beaches to visit in Gunungkidul. It is located near Ngandong Beach and Indrayanti Beach. The beach itself is quite big, and it is clean as well. There are plenty of food stalls around the area, and also gazebos and umbrellas available for rent. The waves are quite big, so not recommended for swimming, but you can play the water and sand along the shore. The beach is nice, although not as beautiful as the other beaches we visited in Gunungkidul.

This is probably the most beautiful beach I’ve ever found. And the accommodations and food are very cheap in this area. The hard part is getting there, as there are not grabs or Gojeks available in here. But if you find a local with a scooter or a car you might be able to hitch a ride.

A memorable beach , clean, beautiful, and calm. A gazebo is available for rent (30k for the small one and 50k for the bigger one which is integrated with the food stall).

Spend the night here, there are many cheap and clean inns and the beach has waves that are far from the shore so that children can play without fear of big waves.
