This place is a really nice spot to hang out, whether with friends or even by yourself. They combine the concept of a café, eatery, and communal space, and the venue often hosts events as well. The overall concept feels contemporary, but with a strong blend of traditional and modern Javanese aesthetics. I really like how they create such a slow, homey atmosphere. They also constantly burn incense throughout the area, giving the place the scent of an old Javanese house or even a traditional spiritual space. Personally, I really enjoy that kind of atmosphere and aroma. The pricing is also quite affordable considering the ambiance and overall experience. I ordered their spiced coffee, which tasted good with a balanced combination of coffee and spices. I also tried the ayam areh (chicken in coconut sauce) and bakmi lethek godhok (cassava noodle soup). The ayam areh tasted really good. The chicken was tender, and the sauce wasn’t overly sweet. I also really liked their sambal, which was flavorful without leaning too much into sweetness. However, the bakmi still needs more depth in flavor. It already has a decent base profile, but overall it tasted really bland and needed more savoriness. Beside that, I really appreciate that they gives the costumers a free refill cold infused water that actually taste really good and refreshing. But because of some that reasons, I’d give this place 4 stars for now.

I have a mixed feelings about this place. The ambiance of this place is genuinely soothing & calming. It’s quite far from the bustle of city. Service wise, it’s very weird. The staff was not friendly. They were kinda staring as we entered the place without any welcoming gesture… which was uncomfortable. It feels like we entered a wrong place? I ordered nasi ayam ketumbar for 25k.. it kinda tasted bland.. the pisang semut wasn’t pleasingly good. The sweetness was uneven. There was a little kebaya store, which was pretty. The collections up there were pretty neat.. Anyway, I don’t want my review to sound negative, but I’m just sharing frankly about my experience🙏🏻🪷

This really comfortable caffe for take a break and drinking some herbal tea 🫖☕️ because special menu in here is tea, and you can make some conversation with your friends with peace vibes.. the location in southern of jogjakarta city and it quiete far from downtown, they have so many tea formula in their menu, or you can mix the leaf or herbs by yourself. And that's make a great experience here.. Not only tea but they have so many another menu just for food companiment like traditional indonesian snack like fried banana, casava, tempeh, tofu etc.. The service is really good and the price is relative as general coffe shop in Yogyakarta. 💕

Lokanusa Café — hidden gem in Kotagede! 🌿 the ambience here is sooo good! Super cozy, breezy, and chill. totally a place I’d come back to just to hang out and unwind. staff’s super friendly too, please keep that up! 💚 u can even mix your own tea here, which is fun! The guy actually gave me some tips, but I got too excited and threw everything in 😭 (my bad it turned out weird, but totally my fault haha). Tried the Pisang Gula Aren, sooooo good! 🍌 the Pisang Kelapa Madu was just okay, so I’d recommend sticking with the Gula Aren one. Prices are super affordable, and the portions? Massive. Totally worth it! Located in Kotagede, so you can easily explore nearby spots too. Keep it up, Lokanusa! Definitely coming back 💫

What a gem! It's a perfect place for a chill date or a warm conversation with friends, but not ok for work (at least for me). I got dawet for the beverages, not the best, I won't recommend, but it's cheap and the place is pretty so it's worth it I guess! My friend got herself Beer Jawa for free (through the loyalty card). It's great! Should've ordered this one.
