Breakfast here is like a delicious time loop, you wake up, eat the same divine Mee Gomak or lontong, and wonder if you’re trapped in a culinary Groundhog Day. But who’s complaining? If I had to relive a morning forever, this would be the spot. The sambal whispers sweet threats to your digestive system, the coconut gravy is comfort disguised as cholesterol, and the uncle running the place looks like he’s been awake since 1972. Be warned: they sell out faster than your will to diet. Come early, or be left with regret and a haunted craving that may follow you back to your hotel room. In a village where time slows down, this warung speeds up your heartbeat – from spice, nostalgia, or both.
