This is truly a hidden gem on the island that serve genuine homecook food. The menu is packed with breakfast and lunch options, western or local style. Ordered the batak style pork and fish and it was amazing. Come back the second day for the signature barbecue pork and it did not dissapoint. Big portion of pork served with chips, fried eggplant and sweet and sour sauce. Highly recommend to everyone.

The best grilled fish I’ve ever had was right here in Tuk Tuk, Samosir Island. My husband ordered the grilled pork, which looked equally delicious. Highly recommended if you’re craving grilled dishes! Just keep in mind that all grilled items are by pre‑order, so be sure to place your order the day before dining

We first tried the chicken ala batak and the fried noodles and all were lovely. Then we pre-ordered the grilled pork for the next day and it was one of the best dishes I ever had! The owners are very friendly and welcoming, it was a great experience

What an amazing restaurant, food, and staff! My friends and I were visiting during off season and it was pouring rain and we came in and they were extremely helpful and welcoming. We all ordered different tacos and damn it was some of the best food we have had while in Indonesia. Our favorites were the chicken, egg, tomato and the pork and vegetables. Reasonably priced and very homely atmosphere! Claire specifically was extremely kind… would come again!

We ate at Joe's restaurant twice. The food was so good, owners are lovely, and Lucky the dog is so sweet 🤍 You should try the grilled fish! (But you should pre-order)
