First time going to RM Rangkuti when I was little, still at the end of the alley behind Irian supermarket. Now on Mandala it's much bigger with two shop houses. Miss Mandailing food, our whole family came here. Just asked to serve 'hidang' so we could just pick which one we fancy. We chose their Ikan Sale which wasn't too dry and the broth was quite spicy. The grilled Carp which keeps you hooked even though you're scared of the bones, made even more delicious with fresh red chili sambal mixed with shallots (if with our parents, mixed with soy sauce again) Then there is the tender kikil, tender rendang which is more savory-salty compared to typical Padang rendang. All of those were eaten with pounded cassava leaf and bamboo shoot veggies. Deliberately came here looking for pounded cassava leaves... Delicious.. The anchovy sambal is crispy, the smoked fish is the best, similar to mangut if in Semarang...

The food is delicious, Mandailing style Can dine in, can order via grab/gojek, can order rice boxes in large quantities! 👍👍
