I was here today (5 AUGUST 2026) to visit this famous dessert store in Medan. I'm a first time visitor to Medan and I'm from Singapore. I bought the following here: some Bolu Gulung Coklat and some Kopi Tanoh Pakpak Sidikalang Special Robusta Biji Merah - for which Zulaikha is famous for (in terms of the former) and Medan is famous for (in terms of the latter). There were of course, other "souvenir" food and beverages sold here, but I was satisfied in just getting the aforementioned two items. Service here was good - friendly, courteous and helpful. The shopping experience here was nice enough even though the place was not air-conditioned.

Heard that Bika Ambon is a must-buy souvenir pastry when visiting Medan, so I decided to get some. However, when I arrived around 7:30am, the shop was still not open even though Google stated it opens at 7am. Instead, I bought their Bolu Lapis Nenas, recommended by the staff as one of their signature pastries, priced at around 80,000 IDR. The taste was really good, not overly sweet, with a nostalgic, old-fashioned cake flavour that I really enjoyed. Highly recommended as a souvenir pastry if you’re visiting Medan.

Taste is not bad, texture is bit like chewy dough

There are 2 stores along the same street selling same thing mainly to divert the no. of customers. This is my 1st bika ambon so I wouldn't able to compare but the texture is really interesting and bouncy. It gets hard ish after awhile so they recommend u to steam it. To consume this within 2-3 days

This Bika Ambon is one of the specific culinary cake in Medan. To be honest, I don't really like Bika Ambon but I can assure you that this store is the most famous Bika Ambon shop in Medan. This is the first store (which also been renovated) they have, the second one is located around 500 meters from this store. Zulaikha got her game since they are acclaimed as the first labelled halal Bika Ambon. This conducts as a guarantee for people (especially Moslem) to buy since Bika Ambon are usually made from fermented ingredients. Bika they also sell other cake, cookies and more coffee and sweets for souvenirs. Plus... Both of the stores are usually always crowded​.
