Lovely little museum about an important part of Indonesia (and especially North Sumatra's) history. The museum is very affordable at just 25,000 IDR for foreigners, and you get a free souvenir to take come. The staff speak semi-conversational English; enough to get the gist of each exhibition, and complement it with the exhibit captions (60-70% of them are bilingual).
View on GoogleSuch an awesome experience. I really impressed with the immersive room and it’s super clean! We need to pay 10k for the museum tour or 30k for the museum+immersive room. For an add on 20k plus the 25 minutes time i think it’s worth it. We get a cookie and a tea voucher for any entry. There are many spots and everything is well organized. Would definitely visit this place again!
View on GoogleThis museum is about Sumatra plantation history. My 25k ticket included an amazing English speaking guide that walked me through the museum. Very friendly staff. I was also given a voucher to get some tea.
View on GoogleSmall museum with information on the history of the tobacco, sugar cane, palm oil, and other commercial crops in the area. The highlight, for me, was the many old black and white photos of the industry from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Most of the displays are only in Indonesian but Google Translate makes them readable in any language.
View on GoogleThis museum was so quiet that there was not even a person to collect the entrance fee. Note that it's quite small in size and focuses mostly in Indonesian which is expected I guess. It's on agriculture in the local area
