If you’re not a fan of the heat, don’t worry—the indoor area is air-conditioned and comfortable. They can also arrange seating for different group sizes. Besides the main menu, there are also snacks available on the table, such as crackers and crepes, which are nice to enjoy while waiting for your meal. One thing I appreciated is that you can request the rice vermicelli (bihun) to be served separately. And if you’re visiting for the first time, you really should give the curry a try—the flavor is quite unique and different from the usual curry you’ll find elsewhere. It has its own character and is one of the reasons this place stands out. Parking can be a bit challenging, but that’s mainly because the street itself is always quite busy. Overall, a worthwhile place to visit for its distinctive curry, flexible seating options, and lively atmosphere. Definitely a spot worth trying at least once when you’re in the area.

(EDITED) Some people tell me if it’s contains non-halal ingredients. So please dear Muslims do your own research 🙏🏼 - I never liked curry, but tabona is an EXCEPTION! The curry is bold but not overwhelming, everything was perfectly paired in one munch. The chicken was tender, the bihun is soft & the potato also add a texture on it, perfect to eat with emping! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Small portion is big enough for a normal lunch. Reasonable price. The place is semi outdoor, not really hot even on 12 pm. Must eat when in Medan 💯👍🏼

RM Tabona serves incredibly authentic and rich free-range chicken curry, perfectly paired with their soft vermicelli. The sambal really packs a punch. Their milk coffee is delicious with a strong coffee kick. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the place itself is comfortable and pleasantly cool.

Back in Medan after 11 years! First stop: Tabona — my family said it’s a must-try, and even Nex Carlos recommended it, so I had high hopes. I ordered the chicken curry 🍛 The flavor is richer and more intense than the curries I’ve had before: lots of spices, thick, and more like gulai-style. The chicken was tender and well-cooked. It’s usually served with vermicelli, but I was too hungry and went for white rice instead 🍗🍚 For my taste, it was a bit spicy, so i enjoyed it while also dealing with a bit of a kick I kinda regret not trying the coffee here too, people say it’s really good! Might come back for that next time ☕️
