Visiting Rahmat Wildlife Museum & Gallery was one of the most fascinating experiences I had in Medan. I was truly amazed by the owner's dedication, passion, and lifelong commitment to collecting wildlife specimens from all over the world. The effort behind this museum is simply incredible and deserves great respect. The diversity of the preserved animals is absolutely breathtaking. From small birds to giant mammals, every collection is beautifully displayed and makes you appreciate the richness of wildlife on our planet. What surprised me even more was the variety of themed exhibits and unique collections throughout the museum. There was always something new to discover around every corner, and each section had its own story to tell. It definitely amazed me and kept me engaged from beginning to end. If you enjoy nature, wildlife, or simply want to visit a museum that's different from the usual, this place is definitely worth your time.

Well, how to describe this, admittedly, rather unique and utterly interesting attraction? A trophy hunter's egotistical homage to himself? An educational natural history museum showcasing over 2000 taxidermied animals from around the world? Hmm, it's a mixture of both. You can easily spend at least two hours here as the collection is huge, spread over many rooms. Most of the 'stuffed' animals are in good condition, and placed within 'natural environments.' While all the animals are identified with some easy to read information boards, others have to be referenced by a long list of numbers in small print. When I visited, I only encountered a few other visitors; therefore I found it very relaxing (with air con throughout) enhancing my experience. Walking through each section, dedicated to different regions and species, you can't help but be impressed with the shear array of animals on display—a literal Noah's Ark of dead fauna. But being an animal lover, I often felt unsettled as the walls were plastered with numerous photos of the founder of the museum, standing proudly next to a poor dead lion or elephant he's just shot! Bizarrely, you'll also come across photos of his golfing days, VIP encounters, even movie memorabilia (which is actually cool). This guy was clearly obsessed with wildlife—from all over the world, but particularly Africa—and especially in hunting big game, and throughout the museum you're told how wonderful a conservationist he was, but come on: he may have loved the animal kingdom and cared about the environment but he wasn't hesitant in showcasing his 'manliness' in killing anything he came across with more than two legs. As for his ego, well... So, all in all, this place is controversial to be sure, and you'll probably leave with conflicting thoughts and conscience, but boring it ain't; and you'll have the opportunity to come up close to so many stunning creatures—some, like me, I've only ever seen on a BBC documentary.

This place has a large variety of wildlife models having more than 2000+ species!, a rather large space to roam and explore, has a nice and cozy rest place/souvenier shop, serving drinks and ice cream at affordable prices. I recommend coming here when in Medan as this is a must-go! Models and environments send me to a whole different world of realism. Definately a must visit with family and friends who share similar intrests in wildlife.

Its really a wonderfull place - no glass, clean and tousands of animals - it might not be political correct but it is better to collect and show the items than to throw them away Children must see models of lights from all countries
