Chill place with lots of history. A must visit in Medan

They say this is a legendary cake shop. The cake selection is really old-school. I tried a few. For the sponge cakes I tried blackforest and mocha (pretty good, just so-so regular sponge cake, the cream isn't too sweet, the chocolate is a bit sweet). The best is the pineapple pastry. Eaten the next day it was still super crunchy. You have to try the other pastry variants. There's also cinnamon sponge cake (this one's just meh, too dry) The buying system uses queue numbers, since it gets pretty crowded with customers here. Prices start from just around 10ribu.

You can taste bread baked in a wood-fired oven handed down since colonial times. The taste faithfully recreates that era, so both the bread and the cream have a rough texture, but apparently many people feel nostalgic about that taste. It pairs best with coffee. A plus is that you can buy the bread and eat it at the restaurant next door.
