A beautiful historic post office featuring classic Dutch colonial architecture. I highly recommend visiting at night, when the building is illuminated, as the lights against the white façade create a stunning setting for photos. Located directly opposite Merdeka Walk, it is surrounded by several cafés, restaurants, and even a few photobooth shops, making the area lively and enjoyable to explore in the evening. Even if you're not planning to have coffee or dinner, it's still a great place to take a walk, admire the architecture, and capture some memorable night shots.

Really pleasant and beautifully renovated Dutch era old central post office, with a gorgeous atrium and, following the conversion into a lifestyle hangout, a good selection of cafes and restaurants. Located opposite Merdeka Sq, not far from DeliPark mall, this space provides a quiet oasis in a lovely colonial era interior. Clearly lovingly and sympathetically restored, the beautiful details (like the stained glass and tile decorations) and well maintained spaces create a really attractive place to hangout. There's a nice free interesting postal museum too, enlightening you on the history of the post office in Indonesia. I was able to enjoy some tasty and inexpensive iced coffees in the open courtyard, where it wasn't busy so provided a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. There's clean toilets and the natural large interiors create a cool feel. A true gem.

Just good for taking photos. Not many cafe in operation… very quiet place on weekdays. No souvenirs and postcards sold in this place. More disappointed ☹️ The post museum is only a small part of the building, not many stamps are shown, also lack of introduction of the stamps. I am not sure why the post museum needs to hire up to 5 staff members, no tour guide services provided and they are all sitting at the counter chatting and doing nothing. There is no mailing service provided in this building, if you are looking for this, search the most nearby CIMB, the latest post office is beside the CIMB which can mail out your letters and postcards and also buy stamps. I already submitted an edit at 11/08/2026 (TUE) on Google maps for the correct post office location and address, still waiting for the results…

PosBloc is honestly one of a kind in Medan. It’s a great all-in-one spot, you’ve got the cafes, a photobox, and they even integrated a prayer room up on the second floor, which is super convenient. The only real catch? It definitely needs more tenants to fully bring the space to life and maximize its potential.

Old post office turned into a cafe, food stall. However I love how the post office vibe is still there. You still feel the nostalgia of the building. Cool place to gather and have some coffee.
