The staff and owners here are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which we truly appreciated. We ordered the dry duck noodles and the duck noodle soup. The broth is very thick, rich, and has a strong, traditional duck flavor. If you order, we highly recommend asking for the thigh meat, as we found it much better than the breast parts. However, we were quite shocked when we received the bill. The portion sizes are on the smaller side, but we were charged 140k rupiah (~RM 32) for one bowl of duck noodle soup and 50k rupiah (~RM 12) for a Milo, bringing our total to 340k rupiah (~RM 75.71). This feels significantly overpriced—nearly double what we would expect to pay. As tourists, it unfortunately felt like we were given a steep markup. While the hospitality was lovely, the meal did not offer good value for the price. It was a nice first experience to try, but due to the cost, we will not be returning.
View on GoogleThe best duck noodle soup I've ever had. The flavor of the soup is absolutely delicious. I love the red chili paste and the pickled green chili padi. Must try!
View on GoogleDuck noodles 🫲 IDR140000 is expensive but they gave lots of duck meat including some liver and gizzard. Taste wise it’s mainly just soya sauce and lots of fried garlic. The slightly sweet chili sauce which you can add was too weak. Soup 👍 Rich and full of duck flavor. Coffee 👍
View on GoogleMedan flavors off the tourist radar, Bihun Bebek Asie is a no-frills eatery is where locals flock for their duck noodle fix. No fancy décor but your local “coffee shop” vibes with the classic tea and coffee stand and years of boiling thick bebek broth. You wont find the shop plaque but its just next to jura ramen and easily accessible following google maps. We tried: 🍜 Bihun Bebek Basah (Soup Version)– Silky rice noodles in a rich, savory duck broth, topped with tender shredded duck. Comfort in a bowl! *ask for more spring onions if u wish to 🍝 Mee Bebek (Dry)– Springy noodles tossed in a fragrant mix, served with a side of soul-warming duck soup. *Pro move: Drizzle the soup in as you go! 🌶️ Spicy Sour Chili Dip – The MVP! Tangy, fiery, and perfect for dipping your duck. 🧄 Fried Garlic Galore – Pile it on for that extra crispy, aromatic kick Personally prefer the dried version more, its a lot of $$$ (bout IDR 260,000) for two bowls of noodles and two plain teas. Sounds like a luxurious treat from the pocket but it does give you a loaded bowl of tender, broiled bebek pieces. View on GoogleNo doubt the legendary duck vermicelli soup in medan, it can be the most expensive one too but the richness of the soup is worth it. If you are more adventurous, can go for the duck innards. They have small and normal bowl but the difference is only 10,000 rupiah, so just go for the normal one, which easily has 30% more soup than the small one.
