I came to Pempek Candy expecting good pempek, but the pindang iga ended up being one of my favorite dishes there. The pempek variety was great — chewy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with their balanced sweet-spicy cuko. Meanwhile, the pindang iga had a rich, savory broth with tender ribs that made the meal feel even more complete. Definitely a great place if you want to enjoy not only pempek, but also authentic Palembang dishes in one spot.

Pempek Candy, located near the airport, is a convenient spot for travelers looking to enjoy authentic Palembang pempek. The restaurant offers a variety of pempek options, from kapal selam to lenjer, all served with a rich and flavorful cuko sauce. The parking area is spacious, making it easy for customers to stop by without worrying about finding a spot. During my visit, the service was quick and efficient, but the staff seemed a bit less friendly, possibly due to the busy atmosphere at the time. Despite this, the food quality made up for it, with fresh and well-cooked pempek that had a nice balance of chewiness and crispiness. If you're in the area and craving pempek, Pempek Candy is definitely worth a visit.

It’s authentically Palembang. If you enjoy that style, this is a solid choice. But if you prefer the Malaysian or Hong Kong-style fish balls and fish cakes, this might not be for you.

Nice ‘pusat oleh-oleh’ (souvenir center) in Palembang. We stopped by for lunch. Vast variety of food and drinks choices. They have indoor and outdoor seatings. One stop solution for tourists. It is clean though better insect control should be done. There is a fly that was bugging us during our meal time. Overall it's superb. Good food with good price.
