Tucked along Jalan Gereja on Samosir Island, this little warung serves up local breakfast with a view that’s hard to beat—lush green paddy fields, cool morning air, and total kampung vibes. We had a tasty mix of mee goreng gomak basah and bihun gomak basah, both bursting with that signature coconut-spice punch with bits of fried tempeh, long beans and a full egg and sambal. Washed it all down with a warm glass of teh sikit gula (just a little sugar!), which balanced everything perfectly. It’s the kind of simple meal that hits just right—and feels like a local hug in food form. Definitely a must-stop if you’re in the area for a laid-back, soul-warming breakfast. Note: breakfast does mean breakfast! They start early as most other restaurants and cafes open only around 9:00 up to 10:00am and serve western style breakfasts.
