Home to some of the oldest traditional houses in the area. A nice lady invited us inside hers, which involved a small purchase — fair enough. But as we went further in, people got increasingly pushy, insisting a ticket was needed on top of what we’d already paid. It felt improvised, like they’d clocked us as an easy mark. The ladies just laughed when a young man couldn’t talk us into paying for a ticket, and we left. That said, the houses themselves are stunning and well worth seeing — just go in prepared for some insistent selling

If you want to see the old Tongkonan (Toraja traditional house), this is the good place to take good picture and ambience. The place is relatively quiet but the view is wow, make you easy to take some good pictures. The location is at North Toraja, South Sulawesi. *More original pictures @ahsubagio

Visited for a large traditional funeral. Very very different. Amazing experience. Not for the faint hearted, especially if you are vegetarian... Probably the most interesting event I’ve seen here - truly fascinating

Old village. People are very nice and let you visit the inside of the tonkolan. Little shops for authentic souvenirs there as well
