Beautiful park about 1 hour's drive from Makassar. Also nice to stay overnight at Rammang Rammang Eco Lodge. Nice and quiet, simple, good food and right in the middle of nature. You can walk around on your own (limited signposts) and find cave paintings. Also recommended to sleep here if you're coming from Toraja and before you fly the next day. That way you don't have to go back into the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Maros - Pangkep National Geopark (GNMP) area, or Maros Pangkep Aspiring Unesco Global Geopark (MPAUGGp), covers 2 regencies, namely Maros Regency and Pangkajene Kepulauan Regency, which administratively include a land area of 223,629 ha and the Spermonde Islands with an area of 88,965 ha. This area has many tourist sites you can visit, both in Maros Regency and in Pangkajene Kepulauan Regency (Pangkep). Famous tourist attractions in this area include Wisata Alam Rammang Rammang, Taman Purbakala Leang Leang, Bantimurung Waterfall and the Mount Bulusaraung hiking site, which is also part of the Bantimurung Bulusaraung National Park area.
