Bistropolis is one of the cafés I keep coming back to, especially for dinner. I do visit for lunch occasionally, but I personally think the atmosphere is much nicer in the evening. The lighting makes the place feel warmer and cozier, while lunch has a brighter and more casual vibe. One thing I really appreciate is that it's usually much less crowded than many other cafés and bistros in Makassar. It's a great place if you want to enjoy a meal or have a conversation without too much noise. Parking is another big plus. Unlike some cafés that focus on having a trendy building but leave you driving around looking for a parking space, parking here is relatively easy and hassle-free. The interior has its own charm with exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and plenty of seating. Whether you're dining with friends or just stopping by on your own, it's a comfortable place to spend a few hours. They also have bar seating if that's your preference. The food is good, and I think the prices are reasonable for what you get. On this visit we ordered the pizza and nasi goreng, and I had their hot chocolate, which was rich and comforting. The menu is quite interesting because it combines Italian dishes with Indonesian favourites, alongside coffee, mocktails, and gelato. To be honest, I'm still not entirely sure what their main food concept is, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It means there's enough variety for everyone, especially if you're coming in a group. The menu isn't the biggest in Makassar, but everything I've tried has been enjoyable. Overall, Bistropolis is a comfortable place with good food, fair prices, easy parking, and a relaxed atmosphere. If I'm looking for a café that's not overly crowded, this is still one of my first pick.
View on GoogleExcellent lasagna, right amount of acidity, very comforting and filling. I also like their tomato cream garlic salmon pasta. I think this place is really good at making tomato based dishes 👍👍(except the pizza, sorry). Chicken cordon bleu was good too. Mozzarella stick and zuppa soup are must try appetizer.
View on GoogleThis place has a lot of good reviews. But to be honest. We don’t know why. The icecream was not creamy. It had crystal (frozen water) inside and had a bad aftertaste. The fries with the herbs taste also not good. We had the feeling that the food (except of the salad) was not fresh. It was frozen before. (The grilled chicken) overall either average. Service where nice and friendly.
View on GoogleThe food is nice, a big portion. I guess not so many cafes know that if your drinks do not contain alcohol it should be served in a regular glass. Fancy and small glass is for alcoholic drinks. The dessert was nice with ice cream.
View on GoogleTheir APPLE CRUMBLE is to die for! I don't usually start off a review straight into one particular menu. But this dessert is definitely on the heavenly level. The other menu, Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli tasted good too, good portion. All decently priced. The cafe is clean, with plenty of natural light. Although a bit on the shabby-side (Suspect due to the Ramadhan month). Staff are attentive, but not memorable (but no complain there). All in all, allow me to reiterate something. Their APPLE CRUMBLE is good enough reason to warrant the many revisits in days to come. Kudos to the chef!
