Sego Sambel Mak Yeye is a must-visit if you're looking for authentic Surabaya flavors. I ordered the smoked stingray (Ikan PE), and it was smoky, tender, and packed with flavor. The best part is the fresh sambal, with two delicious options: sweet spicy and salty spicy. Both are full of flavor and complement the fish perfectly, adding just the right amount of heat without overpowering the dish. One of legendary sego sambel in Surabaya. The best seller menu is fried iwak pe (stingray) with scrambled egg, and tempe. If you don't like stingray, you can subtitute it with fried lele (catfish). Both menu are served with tasty sambal. There's 2 options for the sambal. The hot one, or hot and sweet. I choose the second, because I no longer have strong spice tolerant due to old age. The price are cheap. The most expensive menu is only 24k IDR.

I’m guessing this place is extra busy since there were a lot of menus that were sold out. We went at 6:30 ish on a weekday, and the only thing they had was the stingrays. It was good nonetheless, and the chili as people have mentioned is very very spicy. Great local food at a very affordable price. The portion was generous too!

Authentic local cuisine. Spicy and very cheap. Make sure you fit with local taste, (spicy saus). Locate nearby traditional market. Small street and also limited parking area.
