One of the renowned culinary establishments in Surabaya is Lontong Balap Rajawali. which has historically attracted a loyal customer base. However, it appears that the establishment has faced some challenges recently. The air conditioning, typically a welcomed feature, was not operational during my visit, contributing to an uncomfortable atmosphere in the relatively small dining area. Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not meet expectations. The tofu was not fresh, and the crackers lacked their usual crispness. Additionally, the mussel satay was not only smaller than anticipated but also lacked the expected texture. Moreover, the service provided was noticeably unfriendly, which may explain the decline in customer numbers. It is worth noting that the pricing for lontong balap is relatively high compared to similar offerings. It is my hope that improvements can be made in both the food quality and customer service, allowing this establishment to reclaim its legendary status.

One of the traditional food in Surabaya. It contains lontong, lento, sprouts, tofu, clams satay, and the famous petis originally here. I prefer Lontong balap Garuda instead bcoz its cheaper and the taste is more delicious than lontong balap rajawali.
