This is a legendary traditional food depot. the place is small but considerably full. the taste, imho, is acceptable. not necessarily superb but enjoyable. i ordered chicken satay, beef satay, and beef gulai with green beans. overall they were good.

When we step to the store, it was quite small from the look of it. The sate were being cooked non stop outside of the store. It's the first time I ate sate with coconut shred and it was really good. Just that I don't really know how the locals eat it coz it seems you can either eat it with rice or lontong. Would recommend to try atleast once when you're in Surabaya.

Sate Kelopo Ondomohen Bu Asih is one of the iconic culinary spots in Surabaya and definitely worth trying. The satay tastes delicious, especially with the unique grated coconut coating that adds a rich, slightly sweet, and savory flavor to every bite. The aroma from the grilled coconut makes it even more appetizing. Most of the meat was tender and well-seasoned, although there were a few pieces that were a bit chewy—but still acceptable overall. The portion size is satisfying and the place has a traditional vibe that adds to the experience. The price is a bit on the pricey side, but considering the taste and its reputation, it’s still a great place to enjoy authentic Indonesian satay.

This old-school place is popular with celebrities. A portion of 5 skewers of satay and rice is enough to fill you up. The place is small, so you have to leave immediately after eating because it's for other customers. The price is a little expensive but it suits the taste and place. A must stop by if you are in Surabaya
