Kartiko Traditional Heritage Culinary is a fantastic spot in Surabaya. The atmosphere is truly cool—a perfect blend of Javanese and Chinese aesthetics that makes for a unique dining environment. I tried their Misoa Rawon, which was a very interesting and creative twist on a local classic. While the prices are on the higher side, the ambiance and the distinct flavors make it a worthwhile stop. If you're looking for an iconic, beautifully designed place to experience elevated Indonesian cuisine, this is definitely the spot!
View on GoogleOverall, the food leans a bit too sweet for my taste. The jajanan pasar selection was good and nicely presented, although the price point feels quite premium — which is somewhat expected given the brand positioning. Service and ambience were solid overall. 4/5.
View on GoogleThe restaurant has an appealing menu and a beautifully designed atmosphere, but unfortunately, the overall dining experience fell short of expectations. The food was underwhelming in taste, especially considering the relatively high prices. Interestingly, the traditional packaged items sold for takeaway were much more enjoyable and better value. Service could be improved, as it felt a bit inattentive during our visit. While the ambiance is nice, it comes across as a bit gimmicky — those familiar with authentic Chinese culture may notice the disconnect. Parking is limited, though the presence of a parking attendant is helpful. One important note for visitors: large cameras (DSLR/mirrorless) are not permitted — only phone cameras are allowed. Additionally, credit cards are not accepted, which can be inconvenient for guests. Overall, this place has potential, but improvements in food quality, service attentiveness, and payment options would make the experience much better.
View on GoogleLoving the gorgeous Peranakan-style interior here! The food is spot on—perfectly balanced flavor profiles that are neither too sweet nor too salty. To top it off, the service is incredibly fast.
View on GoogleThis restaurant provided us with the most comfortable, delicious, and enjoyable meal we had in Indonesia. The restaurant's environment is classical and exquisite, the food is very clean, and all the staff are very enthusiastic, with a quick serving speed. Since it is run by local Chinese, the restaurant offers not only delicious Indonesian dishes but also a variety of richly flavored Chinese cuisine. The wide selection of Chinese traditional pastry and desserts also surprised and delighted us.
