French backpacker here, stayed 2 nights with my partner. Great breakfast! Amazing choice and quality. The rooms are nice. It's rustic but if you are used to accommodation in the mountains, you will find it great ☺️. The staff is lovely too. Also, you are 1.5 h hiking from the viewpoints of Mt. Bromo. Highly recommended if you stay overnight in Cemorolawang.
View on GoogleThe room had a constant cold draft and no heater or fan, which made the stay very uncomfortable, especially in the high-altitude chill. There was no hair dryer, and the kettle provided was old and rusty—making it unsuitable for boiling water safely. The shower only produced hot water for about 30 seconds to a minute before turning cold, and I had to repeatedly switch the power off and on to get it working again. Additionally, the steep steps in and around the room area felt quite unsafe, especially in the dark or for anyone carrying luggage. I understand the hotel’s location is ideal for early access to Mt Bromo, but the facilities and room comfort were unfortunately not conducive for a good rest.
View on GoogleIf you like the feeling that you are close to nature, this is a place for you. It is basic, but in a very good way. The bed is big and comfortable and the shower is hot. If you step out of your room, you can see the beautiful hills of east-Java with the clouds drifting by. Besides, the Bromo is next door which makes this hotel to a special one. The service is also very good.
View on GoogleSober rooms, shower and toilet are not separated by a wall of some sorts so be careful as it gets slippery. Beds were long and wide enough with nice, thick blankets. Even though the blankets were thick I was still freezing (while wearing three layers) as the room has no heating facilities. Going from 35°C in the morning to 14°C in the afternoon and evening was quite a shock so warm clothes and warm pyjama’s are a must (possibly bring warm socks as well). The staff was very helpful and friendly and helped us where needed. The location is also perfect as it’s right on the edge of the Sea of Sand next to the Bromo volcano.
View on GoogleI was there in the beginning of January, low season. The hostel felt lifeless. It is very well situated and the rooms have a beautiful view facing the mountains (not Bromo). The room is very dated and the bathroom is even older. It feels dirty. And it was very-very-very cold in the room. Outside there were 14-15 degrees and in the room there were barely 16 degrees. No isolation at all. I was the whole time cold. Very unpleasant. The breakfast is buffet and you have some choice. The staff from the restaurant is very nice. In the restaurant is always cold. There are better places for the price, not worth.
