I really love the location, it's surrounded by rice fields and durian trees. The menu's got variety too, with duck, chicken, and more besides fish. Service is great and food comes fast. All the food has a sweet hint. For a spicy food lover like me, it's not spicy at all. PS they've got animals like a crocodile, mongooses, turtles, and fish.

Extremely disappointing experience. We waited nearly two hours for our lunch (from 12.35 to 14.10). After waiting for over an hour, we kept asking the waiter for updates, but the only response we got was simply, “Please be patient.” Things became even more frustrating when the table next to us — who had arrived at least an hour later — was served first. When we complained, the staff said it was because “they had booked.” That explanation didn’t make sense, as we clearly saw them filling out the order slip on the spot. We were then told there was “only one more order before us,” but that turned out to be another empty promise. Multiple dishes were served to other tables — even those farther away — while we continued waiting. When we raised the issue again, the excuse changed to grilled fish taking longer than fried fish. However, this was hard to believe since we personally saw a mix of grilled and fried fish being served to many other tables. The real issue seems to be very poor queue management. Even nearby tables mentioned that many customers had complained at the cashier about the same problem. While the food tastes good, the overall experience is not worth it. Unless you eat beforehand and don’t mind an extremely long and poorly managed wait, I wouldn’t recommend dining here

I don't even know how many times I've been here, but definitely many many times since a few years ago. From my in-laws to my parents' extended family, I've brought them all to eat here. Because the food really is that good, especially the gurame. Lots of seasoning choices. Not just grilled/fried. In terms of going viral maybe Pondok Catur loses to its competitor, but in terms of taste… for real, no lie, it's an absolute champ. The place is just as nice and comfy as its competitor too, kids friendly, lots of fish ponds. For me the recommended gurame variants are: grilled with rujak seasoning and fried with sweet and sour sauce. Beeehhhh, suuuper delicious, totally awesome, seriously🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
