Malang City's 0 Point is located at Jalan Merdeka Utara No.10, Kiduldalem, Kec. Klojen, Kota Malang, Jawa Timur 65119. The monument is in front of the South Malang City Tax Service Office. In Dutch, “Indië Afstandpaal”. Wishing you continued success, thank you.

There are actually 2 zero points in Malang City. The first was the zero point on Jalan Gatot Subroto, created in early 1869 by the Dutch. It was located on that street because Malang's center used to be on the eastern side. The first zero point was established at the same time the railway arrived in Malang. The zero monument marked the postal route from the Dutch colonial era. This route then became established because of the railway line. Meanwhile, the zero point on Jalan Merdeka Utara serves as a marker of the change in Malang's government at that time. Before 1914, Malang was part of the Pasuruan Residency. And that zero point was in a different location from the current one, namely at the house of the assistant resident of Pasuruan, which is now the Post Office on Jalan Merdeka Selatan. Then in the 1920s, the zero point moved to Jalan Merdeka Utara to mark Malang's change into a residency. So the first zero point relates to the postal route and the second to the change in government.
