Java Dancer has a lot of potential and the food is genuinely very good. But after four visits, the same issue came up almost every time: getting served. Even when the restaurant was far from full, the staff would sometimes chat among themselves without keeping an eye on the tables. To get attention, you either had to wave frantically hoping someone would notice, or simply get up and walk over. Not exactly a relaxing experience. A few menu items such as the matcha crème brûlée and salmon dishes were also repeatedly unavailable over several weeks. Worth updating the menu so guests know what to expect. Other reviews seem to mention the same service issues, which gives the impression that management isn't taking the feedback on board. I hope things improve, because this place really has everything it takes to be one of the best places in Malang.

A perfect spot for those who appreciate authentic Javanese vibes and premium coffee. The rustic wood architecture and traditional decor (love the Punokawan statues!) create a serene, cozy atmosphere that is quiet and great for conversation. ​The Coffee: Bold, expertly roasted, and beautifully served on wooden trays with banana leaf accents. ​The Bites: The crispy Tahu Goreng is a must-try—perfectly seasoned! The Pisang Goreng and fries are also great for sharing. ​The Vibe: 10/10 for ambiance. It feels like a peaceful escape into traditional Java.

Nice ambience. Located in a calmer, more affluent area of malang, outside area of interest for tourists. Picture worthy setup but all other patrons were smoking which made it slightly less enjoyable Food selection seems nice but did not try Came for the coffee. Espresso based drink - no option of coffee bean choice. Flat white was a bit too milky but taste was decent. Took a yama immersion brewed toraja. It was okay but nothing to shout about. Desserts were good Okay for those in the area. Personally i wouldnt go out of my way for the coffee. Staff were great

I’ve visited this Java Dancer branch several times because it’s conveniently located near my workplace. The place is nice, but personally, I prefer the older branch near Hotel Tugu. Even though it’s smaller, it has a cozy and warm atmosphere that feels more authentic. It’s also quite popular among foreign tourists, which gives it an international vibe. Still, both locations offer good coffee and a nice variety of food. The service is generally friendly and the ambiance is comfortable for casual meetings or quick breaks. However, one downside is that many people smoke here, which can be uncomfortable for non-smokers like me. It would be great if there were a clear non-smoking area.

A nice, spacious cafe, offering old Javanese atmosphere. Small pond with fountain and fishes give soothing experience. The coffee is quite nice with options of selected beans. ordered hot chocolate with one shot of espresso. It came too sweet for me. Recommended for the atmosphere and soothing experience. Good value for money.
