Wonderful giant randu trees on Malang. The only largest giant randu tree in Malang Raya. Still standing proudly even though various cluster housing developments have been built on the surrounding land. The local Environmental Agency could turn this into a mini nature reserve if they care. Hopefully it stays preserved, faithfully keeping us company until the end of the world

A very beautiful big tree, as was the scenery around it. Unfortunately, that scenery is now gone, everything has been cleared for development. Hopefully this tree won't be cut down and will remain protected. If it gets felled, it would be such a terrible shame. #SaveNature #SaveRanduAlas

The tree is huge, the biggest I've ever seen in person. I hope this tree continues to be protected and allowed to grow longer. It would be such a shame if this old tree were cut down.

Local people call this tree randu alas. It's quite old too, more than 35 years, because it was already here when I was a child. There are lots of local stories going around about this tree. One I heard around this village was that someone once tried to cut this tree down with a chain saw, but unfortunately the person doing the cutting ended up cutting themselves (just local story i hear).
