It is a proper restaurant for the keyword "rawon" in this area. The black soup was thick yet fresh and full of spices. The meat was cooked in two different ways: part of the black soup and another one I cannot recognize, however both are successful. The meat is tender and flavourful. Moreover there are other options in the menu beside javanese black soup: javanese clear soup, pecel and nasi campur. The place is clean, neat and the owner brings hospitality in service. The price is reasonable and there is a proper toilet.

I ordered pecel, which is one of the best in town. The downside is that there's no price list, so first-time visitors don't know the price. I ordered pecel with empal (beef), which was a bit pricey at IDR 34,000. It's best to ask the price before ordering to avoid any surprises at checkout.

The place and the taste didn't change at all. You MUST try their rawon. It is the best in town! :)

Small place, no price list

I have been their loyal customer since high school (15 years ago). Their "warung" is located in a small street, 5 minutes by walking, east side from Jember Square. They are selling Indonesian Javanese local foods with good taste and quality. My favorites are "nasi Pecel" and "nasi Campur". Both are always served the best and very delicious. They are also selling Indonesian traditional drinks.
