De Djawatan Forest is a hidden gem that gracefully combines natural beauty with thoughtful hospitality. The staff are genuinely welcoming, ensuring that every visitor feels at ease from the moment they arrive. The forest itself is impeccably maintained, with towering trembesi trees creating an enchanting canopy that feels both mystical and serene. For photography enthusiasts, the setting is nothing short of exotic—every angle offers a frame-worthy composition that captures the essence of timeless nature. Before entering the forest, visitors can enjoy a comfortable dining spot near the entrance, perfect for a light meal or refreshment. The ticket price is reasonable, reflecting the value of an experience that is both memorable and accessible. De Djawatan is not merely a destination; it is an encounter with nature’s poetry, curated with care and presented with warmth.
View on GoogleIf you are in Banyuwangi, you absolutely must stop here. It doesn’t feel like a regular forest—it feels like stepping into a magical fairytale or the world of Lord of the Rings. • The giant, ancient Trembesi trees covered in hanging moss create a surreal, "otherworldly" atmosphere. • Whether you’re a photographer or just looking to escape reality for an hour, the scenery is breathtaking. It’s easily one of the most unique landscapes in Indonesia. A bucket-list destination. It’s pure magic.
View on GoogleDe Djawatan in Benculuk is a truly unique spot a mini forest that feels magical from the moment you arrive. The atmosphere here is serene and refreshing, with ancient trees covered in lush greenery creating an enchanting tunnel like canopy. Walking through the winding paths beneath the towering trees was a calming and memorable experience, perfect for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful escape. The site is beautifully natural, and there are plenty of great photo opportunities, thanks to the dramatic arches of foliage and the pure, unspoiled vibes of the place. It doesn’t feel crowded or overly commercialized, which I appreciated. On the downside, the facilities could use some improvement. Pathways could be better maintained, and a few seating areas would make the visit more comfortable especially for families or elderly guests. Some information boards about the forest’s history and plant species would add a nice educational touch. Overall, De Djawatan is well worth a visit for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy a picturesque, tranquil retreat. Just be prepared for basic amenities.
View on GoogleWorth a visit when you’re in Banyuwangi. Bear in mind, this is a place for picture taking only, so prepare your camera and your best pose. Ticket price for local is 10.000 per person and 5.000 for car parking. For foreigner, entrance ticket is 20.000 per person. If you like photography, this is perfect place to create kind of ‘Lord of the Rings’ theme photos.
View on GoogleThere are no signage at the entrance, I missed the spot twice. The entrance fee is reasonable. This place used to be a place for storing wood that had been cut down to be sold. Now this place is managed by Perhutani and become a tourist attraction and also one of the highlight destination in Banyuwangi. This place is on the route to the Alas Purwo National Park, Red Island Beach, and any other beaches on the southern part of Banyuwangi.
